- UCHL5 or ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase L5 is a member of the UCH enzyme family which contains a conserved catalytic domain and a nonconserved extended C-terminal tail. UCHL5 overexpression increases TGFbR1-dependent transcription. Knockdown of UCHL5 expression by RNA interference abrogated TGF-beta-dependent transcription (1). UCHL5 is a component of the 26S proteasome that functions in editing polyubiquitinated protein substrates (2). The activity of the C-terminal hydrolase UCHL5 is upregulated in a majority of tumor tissues compared to the adjacent normal tissues. UCHL5 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Angiogenesis, Apoptosis/Autophagy, Cancer, Cell Cycle, Cellular Stress, Inflammation, Invasion/Metastasis, and Neurobiology research.
