Presenilin 1 and presenilin 2 are transmembrane proteins belonging to the presenilin family. Mutation of presenilin genes has been linked to early onset of Alzheimer’s disease，probably functioning through its associated g-secretase activity for amyloid-B protein processing. Endogenous presenilin mainly exists in a heterodimeric complex formed from the endoproteolytically processed N-terminal （34 kDa） and C-terminal （~20 kDa） fragments.

Western blotting （2-4 ug/ml）， immunoprecipitation （20 ug/ml）， and Immunohistochemistry （20 ug/ml）. However， the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes Presenilin 2 of human， mouse， and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.
