- NGF?(beta-NGF) is?a?well characterized neurotropic protein that plays a critical role in the development of sympathetic and some sensory neurons in the peripheral nervous system. In addition,?NGF?can?also?act?in?the?central?nervous?system?as?a?trophic?factor?for?basal?forebrain? cholinergic neurons?Sample Type:Serum and plasmaIntended Use:The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the in vitro quantitative measurement of beta-NGF in human serum, plasma; and other biological fluids not being tested.Sensitivity:<1pg/mlRange:31.2-2000pg/mlSpecificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human beta-NGF.Precision:Intra CV<10%; Inter CV <15%Test Principle:This assay employs the fast quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for beta-NGF has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards, samples and human beta-NGF mix are pipetted into the wells and any beta-NGF present is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of beta-NGF bound in the initial step. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
