- IL-1?is?a?name?that?designates?two?pleiotropic?cytokines,?IL-1a?and?IL-1b,?which?are?the?products?of?distinct?genes.?IL-1a?and?IL-1b are structurally related polypeptides that share ~21% ?amino acid (aa) identity in human. Both proteins are produced by a wide variety of cells in response to inflammatory agents,?infections,?or?microbial?endotoxins.?Sample Type:Serum and plasmaIntended Use:The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the in vitro quantitative measurement of IL-1 beta in human serum, plasma; and other biological fluids not being tested.Sensitivity:<1pg/mlRange:8.2-2000pg/mlSpecificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human IL-1 betaPrecision:Intra CV<10%; Inter CV <15%Test Principle:This assay employs the fast quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for IL-1 beta has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards, samples and human IL-1 beta mix are pipetted into the wells and any IL-1 beta present is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1 beta bound in the initial step.
