- IP-10 (interferon-gamma inducible protein 10kD), also known as CXCL10, was originally identified as an IFN-g-inducible gene. It is induced in a variety of cells in response to IFN-g and LPS. In contrast to other CXC chemokines, IP-10 has no chemotactic activity for neutrophils. It is a pleiotropic molecule that appears to target activated T cells and monocytes. IP-10 inhibits bone marrow colony formation and angiogenesis. It can also stimulate NK and T cell migration, regulate T cell maturation and modulate adhesion molecule expression.Sample Type:Serum and plasmaIntended Use:The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the in vitro quantitative measurement of IP-10 in human serum, plasma; and other biological fluids not being tested.Sensitivity:<1pg/mlRange:40.9-10,000pg/mlSpecificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human IP-10.Precision:Intra CV<10%; Inter CV <15%Test Principle:This assay employs the fast quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for human IP-10 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards, samples and human IP-10 mix are pipetted into the wells and any IP-10 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IP-10 bound in the initial step.
