- B lymphocyte chemoattractant, independently cloned and named Angie, is a CXC chemokine strongly expressed in the follicles of the spleen, lymph nodes, and Peyer’s patches. It preferentially promotes the migration of B lymphocytes (compared to T cells and macrophages), apparently by stimulating calcium influx into, and chemotaxis of, cells expressing Burkitt’s lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR-1). It may therefore function in the homing of B lymphocytes to follicles.Sample Type:Serum, plasma, tissue homogenatesIntended Use:For the quantitative determination of human B-lymphocyte chemoattractant 1 (BLC-1) concentrations in serum, plasma and tissue homogenates.Sensitivity:19.5pg/mlRange:78-5000pg/mlSpecificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human BLC-1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human BLC-1 and analogues was observed.Test Principle:This BioAssay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for BLC-1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any BLC-1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for BLC-1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of BLC-1 bound in the initial step.
