AAK1 is a serine/threonine kinase that is thought to coordinate the recruitment of AP-2 to receptors containing tyrosine-based internalization motifs by phosphorylating the u2 subunit. There is strong evidence that this protein is the endogenous mu 2 kinase and plays a regulatory role in clathrin-mediated endocytosis，including the regulation of fatty acid synthesis and cholesterol synthesis.

Western blotting （0.5-4 ug/ml）. However， the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes ~95 kDa AAK1 in samples from human， mouse and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.
