Alkyne-PEG3-iodide (or Iodo-PEG3-alkyne) is a hydrophilic bifunctional PEG derivative for the alkylation of nuclophilic groups, and copper catalyzed Click chemistry. As compared with chloride and bromide, iodide is the halogen group that is the most active in alkylation reactions.
