背景資料: This gene is a member of the protocadherin alpha genencluster, one of three related gene clusters tandemly linked onnchromosome five that demonstrate an unusual genomic organizationnsimilar to that of B-cell and T-cell receptor gene clusters. Thenalpha gene cluster is composed of 15 cadherin superfamily genesnrelated to the mouse CNR genes and consists of 13 highly similarnand 2 more distantly related coding sequences. The tandem array ofn15 N-terminal exons, or variable exons, are followed by downstreamnC-terminal exons, or constant exons, which are shared by all genesnin the cluster. The large, uninterrupted N-terminal exons eachnencode six cadherin ectodomains while the C-terminal exons encodenthe cytoplasmic domain. These neural cadherin-like cell adhesionnproteins are integral plasma membrane proteins that most likelynplay a critical role in the establishment and function of specificncell-cell connections in the brain. Alternative splicing has beennobserved and additional variants have been suggested but theirnfull-length nature has yet to be determined.

免疫原: This PCDHA12 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 166-194 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human PCDHA12.

保存建議: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
