背景資料: Serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT), a neurotransmitter,nelicits a wide array of physiological effects by binding to severalnreceptor subtypes, including the 5-HT2 family ofnseven-transmembrane-spanning, G-protein-coupled receptors, whichnactivate phospholipase C and D signaling pathways. This genenencodes the 2C subtype of serotonin receptor and its mRNA isnsubject to multiple RNA editing events, where genomically encodednadenosine residues are converted to inosines. RNA editing isnpredicted to alter amino acids within the second intracellular loopnof the 5-HT2C receptor and generate receptor isoforms that differnin their ability to interact with G proteins and the activation ofnphospholipase C and D signaling cascades, thus modulatingnserotonergic neurotransmission in the central nervous system.nStudies in humans have reported abnormalities in patterns of 5-HT2Cnediting in depressed suicide victims.

免疫原: This HTR2C antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 253-282 amino acids from the Central region of human HTR2C.

保存建議: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
