背景資料: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100nfamily of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs.nS100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of anwide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number ofncellular processes such as cell cycle progression andndifferentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which arenlocated as a cluster on chromosome 1q21; however, this gene isnlocated at 21q22.3. This protein may function in Neurite extension,nproliferation of melanoma cells, stimulation of Ca2+ fluxes,ninhibition of PKC-mediated phosphorylation, astrocytosis and axonalnproliferation, and inhibition of microtubule assembly. Chromosomalnrearrangements and altered expression of this gene have beennimplicated in several neurological, neoplastic, and other types ofndiseases, including Alzheimer's disease, Down's syndrome, epilepsy,namyotrophic lateral sclerosis, melanoma, and type I diabetes.

免疫原: This S100B/S-100 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 28-56 amino acids from the Central region of human S100B/S-100.

保存建議: Store at 4˚C for three months and -20˚C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.
