- PTAFR shows structural characteristics of the rhodopsinn(MIM 180380) gene family and binds platelet-activating factorn(PAF). PAF is a phospholipidn(1-0-alkyl-2-acetyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphorylcholine) that has beennimplicated as a mediator in diverse pathologic processes, such asnallergy, asthma, septic shock, arterial thrombosis, andninflammatory processes.
