- The octapeptide angiotensin II exerts a wide range of effects on the cardiovascular system. It is also implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation, fibrosis and apoptosis. Angiotensin II is formed by cleavage of angiotensin I by angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) or chymases. Human heart chymase, a chymotrypsin-like serine proteinase, hydrolyzes the Phe8-His9 bond to yield the octapeptide hormone angiotensin II and His-Leu.Sequence:Asp-Arg-Val-Tyr-Ile-His-Pro-PheStorage and Stability:Store lyophilized powder at 4°C. Before reconstitution, allow 25 to 45 minutes for the lyophilized peptide to return to room temperature. Briefly vortex the Eppendorf tube to concentrate all material at the bottom of the tube. Gently open the cap and reconstitute the peptide to the desired concentration by adding a sterile, aqueous solution to the tube. Invert the tube 5 times by hand to ensure a homogeneous solution. Store reconstittuted peptide at -20°C.
