- This gene encodes a tyrosine kinase receptor for vascular endothelial growth factors C and D. The protein is thought to be involved in lymphangiogenesis and maintenance of the lymphatic endothelium. Mutations in this gene cause hereditary lymphedema type IA.Sample Type:Serum, plasma, tissue homogenatesIntended Use:For the quantitative determination of human vascuar endothelial cell growth factor receptor 3 (VEGFR-3/Flt-4) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates.Sensitivity:0.039ng/mlRange:0.156-10ng/mlSpecificity:This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human VEGFR-3/Flt-44. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human VEGFR-3/Flt-44 and analogues was observed.Test Principle:This BioAssay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for VEGFR-3/Flt-4 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any VEGFR-3/Flt-4 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for VEGFR-3/Flt-4 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of VEGFR-3/Flt-4 bound in the initial step.
