- Stem Cell Factor Receptor (SCFR) is a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family. Binding of SCFR to its ligand Stem Cell Factor (PE-1242-5) induces receptor dimerization, autophosphorylation and signal transduction. SCFR is essential for the development of normal hematopoietic cells and plays an important role in the survival, proliferation and differentiation of mast cells, melanocytes and germ cells.Source:DNA sequence encoding the signal peptide and extracellular domain of human Stem Cell Factor Receptor (aa1-520) was expressed in modified human 293 cells.Biological. Activity:The ED50 of SCFR is typically 2-4 ug/ml from its ability to neutralise SCF mediated proliferation of the human growth dependent M-07e cell line.Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: Under reducing conditions SCFR migrates as a broad band between ~65 and 100kD on SDS-PAGE due to post-translational modifications. The unmodified SCFR polypeptide has a predicted monomeric molecular mass of 55.9kD. SCFR separates into a number of glycoforms with a pI between 4 and 7 on 2D PAGE due to post-translational modifications. The unmodified SCFR has a predicted pI of 6.1.Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
