Clenbuterol is a beta 2-adrenoreceptor agonist, clinically used for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and also used as bronchodilator in treatment of asthma acute attack. Its ability to increase the amount of lean meat with a higher muscle-to-fat ratio has led to its illegal used as feed additive to improve the animal of lean meat and accelerate animal growth in recent years. Due to food poisoning, the use of beta-adrenaline hormone is not permitted by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China in the feed and livestock production, Clenbuterol is listed as the first.
