- Interleukin 1 receptor, type II(IL1R2) also known as CD121b(Cluster of Differentiation 121b) is an interleukin receptor. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family. It is mapped to 2q11.2. IL1R2 binds interleukin alpha(IL1A), interleukin beta(IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor, type I(IL1R1/IL1RA), and acts as a decoy receptor that inhibits the activity of its ligands. IL1R2 also modulates cellular response through non-signaling association with IL1RAP after binding to IL1B. The secreted IL1R2 recruits secreted IL1RAP with high affinity, and this complex formation may be the dominant mechanism for neutralization of IL1B by secreted/soluble receptors.

- Useful in Sandwich ELISA for Quantitative Detection of Antigen. Aliquot 0.1ml per well of the 2000pg/ml,1000pg/ml, 500pg/ml, 250pg/ml, 125pg/ml, 62.5pg/ml, 31.2pg/ml human IL1R2 standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1ml of the sample diluent buffer into the control well (Zero well). Add 0.1ml of each properly diluted sample of human cell culture supernates or serum to each empty well. It is recommended that each human IL1R2 standard solution and each sample be measured in duplicate.

- Store vials at 4°C prior to opening. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for 6 months at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. For extended storage freeze at -20°C or below for 12 months. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
